The Friends of Humbleton is a group of residents who organise the Christmas Light Switch on in December. It is a self-financing group and all funds raised at the event is ploughed back into the next event.
Christmas Light Switch On
A big thank you to everyone who came to our 'party' to celebrate the start of Christmas. It was great to see so many attend. Then we all moved to a decorated church - St Peters - for mulled wine, burgers and sausages, mince pies plus raffle, tombola and Santa made an early visit to all the children who received a gift. A big thank you to St Peters, for letting us use the church for event. We had the fabulous BBBs providing live music.
As the church had built a toilet and kitchen area, we benefited from not having to hire a toilet. Though the BBQ was still used outside (to prevent the church smelling). The food and drink all went down very well. The event lasted a while longer than previous years and with the addition of the BBQ outside, a good night was had by all. The raffle and tombola generated lots of interest and helped raise our funds to recoup our costs.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event - from decorating the tree, checking the power supply worked, decorating the Church, organising the BBQ and the drink and music, plus the contributions to the raffle and tombola. Mark your date in the diary - 29th November 2025.
